Sports massage in Birmingham City Centre

Targeted soft-tissue work to ease overworked, tight muscles and make the rest of your rehab easier to do well.

Sports massage applied to a patient's upper back and neck

How it is used

Firmer, focused pressure through specific muscles to reduce tightness and guarding, usually combined with joint work and exercise as part of your plan.

Who it suits

Runners and lifters with recurring tightness in the same areas, and desk workers with persistent neck and upper back tension.

What to expect

Pressure is adjusted to what you're comfortable with. Some post-session soreness for a day is normal, similar to after a hard workout.

Common questions

How is it different from a relaxation massage?

It is more targeted and clinical, focused on your problem areas rather than general relaxation.

Will it fix my problem on its own?

Usually not. It works best alongside treatment and exercise aimed at the underlying cause.

Is it booked separately?

It is offered as part of your physiotherapy assessment and treatment when it's appropriate for you.
